The Pradhanmantri Sangrahalaya, inaugurated by the Hon’ble Prime Minister on April 14, 2022, is a special museum that celebrates the contributions of all the Prime Ministers of India. The museum uses digital technology and is spread across two buildings.
In Building 1, you’ll find the old Teen Murti building, a gallery dedicated to Shri Jawaharlal Nehru, Constitution galleries, Toshakhana, and Shri Jawaharlal Nehru’s private wing. Building 2 showcases the personal lives and the social, political, and economic reforms of the Prime Ministers from Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri to Dr. Manmohan Singh. Each gallery highlights the important contributions made by these leaders during their time as Prime Ministers.
The Sangrahalaya features a Light and Sound Show titled ‘Veeranganaon ki Mahagatha,’ narrating the stories of courageous women warriors who upheld the nation’s pride. Another program, ‘Navya ki Udaan,’ offers a glimpse of India’s technological advances in space exploration over the last 75 years.
Visitors can engage in a special zone called ‘Anubhuti,’ where they can take a ‘Selfie with the Prime Minister,’ ‘Walk with the Prime Minister,’ receive a ‘Letter from the Prime Minister,’ and even experience a virtual helicopter ride showcasing the architectural and technological marvels of the nation. Visitors can choose the Prime Minister they want to engage with in this zone.
The Sangrahalaya also provides amenities like golf carts and wheelchairs for easy movement, guides or audio guides, a cafeteria, and a souvenir shop. Additionally, there’s a ‘Unity Chain‘ where visitors can record their presence on a big wall in groups and a ‘Vision 2047 feedback wall‘ where they can share inspirational messages.
Union Minister for Culture, Tourism, and Development of North Eastern Region, Shri G.Kishan Reddy, shared this information in the Rajya Sabha, underlining the unique features and engaging experiences offered by the Pradhanmantri Sangrahalaya.
