Aging is the process of becoming older over time. It is a natural process that occurs in all living organisms and is characterized by a gradual decline in physical and mental function. Some of the physical changes that occur with aging include:

  • Wrinkles and thinning of the skin

  • Decreased bone density and increased risk of osteoporosis
  • Changes in vision and hearing
  • Decreased immune function

Some of the cognitive changes that occur with aging include:

  • Decreased ability to learn new information and remember things
  • Slower processing speed and reaction time
  • Changes in decision-making and problem-solving abilities

While aging is a natural process, there are things that we can do to promote healthy aging and maintain good physical and mental health as we get older. These include eating a healthy diet, getting regular exercise, managing stress, and engaging in activities that challenge the brain.
