Release of implementation guide to make Jharkhand tobacco free
- Recently, a program was organized in Ranchi under the aegis of Education Department and Seeds to make Jharkhand tobacco free.
- On this occasion, Jharkhand Education Minister Jagannath Mahato and Health Minister Banna Gupta released the developed implementation guide for tobacco-free educational institutions.
- According to the Global Youth Tobacco Survey 2019 data, 5.1% of the students in Jharkhand are consuming tobacco of some kind.
- The implementation guide has been developed as per the guidelines of Tobacco Free Educational Institute by National Health Mission Committee Jharkhand and Seeds Jharkhand in technical collaboration with The International Union.
