Pennsylvania Officials Declare 2023 as the ‘Taylor Swift Era’

In 2023, Taylor Swift had a remarkable year, and her home state of Pennsylvania is recognizing her for it. On her 34th birthday, Pennsylvania lawmakers passed a resolution declaring 2023 as the “Taylor Swift era” in the state. The resolution, introduced by several Representatives, acknowledges Swift’s achievements, such as being named TIME’s Person of the Year and her role as a courageous and influential figure.

Democratic Rep. Maureen Madden emphasized Swift’s impact on younger generations and praised her as more than just a pop star. Although Swift left Pennsylvania as a teenager to pursue her music career in Nashville, she often references her home state in songs. Nashville also celebrated Swift’s “homecoming weekend” during her Eras Tour stop, issuing a proclamation and installing a park bench in her honor.

Swift celebrated her birthday in New York City with a star-studded party, attended by celebrities like Gigi Hadid, Blake Lively, Jack Antonoff, and more. Reflecting on her achievements in 2023, including the Eras Tour, record-breaking theatrical film, and the release of albums like Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) and 1989 (Taylor’s Version), Swift expressed gratitude for the support and birthday wishes on Instagram.
