His Biological Father David Crosby was in a relationship with Celia Crawford Ferguson when he was about 20 years old, during which Celia became pregnant and gave birth to David’s child James Raymond in 1962.

After James Birth, Celia gave him up for adoption and didn’t tell David Crosby he existed. David had no idea for the first 30 years of James’ life that he existed.

Eventually, James, who is a musician, songwriter, producer, and film composer, found out David was his biological father after his adoptive parents recommended looking into it.

James started studying piano at the age of six and was playing in R&B and jazz bands by his early teens.
